Workstream overview
Eco2librium is developing biodiversity monitoring approaches to support more accurate understanding of ecological change across climate and conservation projects. This includes both specialist ecological monitoring and a citizen science component that trains farmers to observe and report biodiversity in their own fields.
The purpose is to generate reliable field data that can be collected consistently over time, compared across sites, and used to improve project design and management.
Monitoring principles
Standardised field surveys across habitat condition, vegetation, birds, pollinators, butterflies, ants, and soil biodiversity — with GPS-referenced locations, photographic evidence, and quality controls.
Training farmers to observe and report selected biodiversity indicators in their own fields, complementing specialist surveys with more frequent local observation and community engagement.
